What is a kitchen clown?

What is a kitchen clown? Some may wonder when first hearing about these lively kitchen acrobats. The answer is simple: kitchen clowns are small but fine creatures, which cheerfully potter about in the kitchen. Spirit and purpose of these creatures is to bring joy to you and make you smile. The portrayals of the kitchen clowns are positive companions of everyday life with the claim to put us in a good mood.

The kitchen clowns are originated from Cologne. A few years ago the clown called “Jupp” became the leading figure in the illustrated book “Carneval Colonia” published by Jan and Milca Künster. Among other features cooking recipes were presented in this book, which led to great enthusiasm and, in turn to the idea of creating a clown cookbook.

Now that the kitchen clowns have accompanied two Colonia cookbooks, they have become independent and have been sent of on a journey by the authors. Their first culinary goal was Italy, known as a land of pleasure where they collected many wonderful recipes in accordance with their preference for the Mediterranean cuisine.

Afterwards they collected "Recipes for success" and finally were "Crazy for Christmas".
